Psychology & Mental Health Services
Mental health is health. Anxiety that stops you from leaving home, grief that will not lift, anger you cannot control, or a sadness that has lasted months, these are not signs of weakness. They are medical conditions, and they deserve the same care and attention as any physical illness.
IPIMS Hospital’s Psychology Department provides compassionate, confidential, and evidence-based mental health support for patients of all ages, from children struggling in school to adults managing workplace stress, and elderly patients coping with loss and cognitive decline.
What Our Psychology Department Offers
Our team of qualified clinical psychologists and mental health professionals provides a full range of psychological assessment and therapy services, including:

- Behavioural therapy — for habit disorders, phobias, OCD, and anxiety-related conditions

What Happens During a Psychology Session
Your first visit to our psychology department is a confidential assessment session. Here is what to expect:
- Your psychologist will listen carefully to your concerns without judgement — there are no right or wrong answers
- A thorough history is taken covering your emotional health, relationships, work, sleep, and any significant life events
- Where appropriate, standardised psychological assessment tools may be used
- A clear explanation of your condition and a proposed therapy plan is discussed with you openly
- You are involved in setting the goals of your own therapy — your priorities matter
Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes. Some patients benefit from short-term therapy (6–8 sessions), while others may require longer-term support depending on their condition and goals.
Whole-Person Care
At IPIMS Hospital, we recognise that physical illness and mental health are deeply connected.
Patients dealing with chronic pain, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or long-term disability often experience psychological distress — which, if unaddressed, can worsen physical outcomes.
Our psychology team collaborates closely with physicians, oncologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure complete care.
This integrated, whole-person approach is central to our care philosophy.
Take the First Step Towards Better Mental Health
Reaching out is the hardest part. Our psychologists are here to listen, support, and guide you — in complete confidence, without judgement.
